As an educator, I am convinced that what happens during children’s formative years is far more important than we realize. It not only shapes who we are but whom we are going to become. Teaching kindness and good manners, while encouraging children to have diverse experiences, helps to develop their whole being. I am now able to convert my childhood home into a daycare for children to come learn in creative ways. The Montessori classroom is centered around children’s interests, to meet a child's individual needs, and fits in beautifully with our Spanish and Sign language lessons for an enriched language based environment. My life experiences have made me feel responsible in doing an important job, and that is of igniting a light within each child to create a LOVE of learning.See all program details
My journey as an educator has shifted gears by running my own daycare business, which allows me the freedom to set my goals higher than I could have ever imagined. I feel that I’m living my life’s purpose! Even though the path I chose is unpaved, and filled with exciting challenges I feel humbled on how far I have come. Over the years, I have collected many exciting experiences, which have prepared me for the work I am doing.
I studied psychology before switching over to teaching children in public schools, then finally finding my calling with the Montessori method. It inspired me to leave my home in California and move to Miami to get my Masters in Education in the Montessori method. I created a cosmic curriculum at Casa Dei Bambini which stands for Children's House.
Montessori philosophy serves to educate the whole child, and parents are drawn to Montessori because they believe it helps their children acquire leadership skills and independence. Children are very capable, more than we normally think they are. I'm always amazed at how they can be totally absorbed in doing lessons in an almost meditative state, and I love it when their faces beam with joy! The shouts of ”I did it by myself” to announce a newly-acquired skill is so exciting for them to share with their peers. This turned my whole interest in life to prepare for the most important job in the world, that of nurturing each child by connecting them with their world in a fun and unique way.

Little Plum has become a second home for my son (now 16 months). We started there in February 2019 after some concerns with his previous daycare. From the moment we visited I knew we had found a gem. There is so much outdoor space and lots of things to explore and learn with insi...Read more
