As an educator, I am convinced that what happens during our children’s formative years is far more important than we realize. It not only shapes who we are but whom we are to become. Teaching kindness and good manners, while encouraging children to have diverse experiences, helps to develop their whole being. I am now able to convert my childhood home into a daycare for children to come learn in creative ways. The Montessori classroom is centered around children’s interests and to meet a child's individual needs. Our program is seamlessly woven for Dual Language learners to speak in English & Spanish. We use our Dual Language Program to enrich our children’s life. These experiences allow children to grow their minds. I feel I am doing my job of igniting a light within each child to create a LOVE of learning.
My journey as an educator has shifted gears by running my own daycare business, which allows me the freedom to set my goals higher than I could have ever imagined. I feel that I’m living my life’s purpose! Even though the path I chose is unpaved, and filled with exciting challenges I feel humbled on how far I have come. Over the years, I have collected many exciting experiences, which have prepared me for the work I am doing.
I studied psychology before switching over to teaching children in public schools, then finally finding my calling with the Montessori method. It inspired me to leave my home in California and move to Miami to get my Masters in Education in the Montessori method. I created a cosmic curriculum at Casa Dei Bambini which stands for Children's House.
Montessori philosophy serves to educate the whole child, and parents are drawn to Montessori because they believe it helps their children acquire leadership skills and independence. Children are very capable, more than we normally think they are. I'm always amazed at how they can be totally absorbed in doing lessons in an almost meditative state, and I love it when their faces beam with joy! The shouts of ”I did it by myself” to announce a newly-acquired skill is so exciting for them to share with their peers. This turned my whole interest in life to prepare for the most important job in the world, that of nurturing each child by connecting them with their world in a fun and unique way.
Ms. Laura is our full time daycare assistant who is also a trained child development bilingual assistant. She loves being with kids and children are drawn to her. She comes from a large family so caring for children comes naturally to her. Having raised three of her own siblings from infancy lead her to the path of child development. She is staying in the field of child development to gain work experience and practice all that she has learned in school. We appreciate her help at the daycare as children are drawn to her warm nature. With her bilingual language skills, she is an asset to the Little Plum Daycare program.
Our goal at Little Plum Daycare is to provide the highest quality care using The Dual Language Learner Program to enhance learning. The Immersion Program includes English and Spanish lessons during the day with Miss Lisee. She came on board to assist children become familiar with the Spanish language using books, props, music and dance. Since children learn in a multiple of different ways she approaches language from all areas of development, from sound to movement using music and storytelling. We greatly appreciate all that she brings to the Little Plum Daycare environment.
Ms. Cassie is a Hip Hop music therapist for children of all ages. She creates rhythm and movement while using fun techniques, to help children play games while incorporating dance moves in all her lessons. Children learn to release their emotions while engaged in kinesthetic movements. Each week, she introduces new lessons so the children build on their Hip Hop dance skills. They look forward to her dance classes each week!
Little Plum has become a second home for my son (now 16 months). We started there in February 2019 after some concerns with his previous daycare. From the moment we visited I knew we had found a gem. There is so much outdoor space and lots of things to explore and learn with insi...Read more

Our home is safe, secure, and is the ideal space for children to run around and play. Keeping in line with the Montessori Philosophy when doing lessons, set in a designed sequence to create order in the mind and help the children develop mastery over time.
