Sleeping

If your child sleeps well, then you do, too! Discuss topics like how long your little one should be sleeping, how to create a bedtime routine for your baby, and techniques like the Ferber method.

Why won’t my 2.5 year old sleep throughout the night/fall asleep easily anymore?

So my son whose 2.5 almost 3, is not only not sleeping throughout the night, but he’s also having a really tough time settling down enough to fall asleep. It’s almost like right before bed he has this burst of energy but yet we can tell he’s becoming way to over tired. We sometimes allow him to lay in our bed and watch an episode of one of his favorite shows and then transfer him; but he seems to climb out or come out of his room every time now. He also wakes up at least once through out the night: we think it may be night terrors or other times maybe not being able to find his pacifier? But it stinks because you can tell he wants to sleep but it’s like his mind isn’t settling down enough for him to! Any tricks ? He has a speech delay, so sometimes he’s over stimulated and cannot communicate proper sentences or phrases to let us know at all what’s going on and he’s sensitive to sensory needs so I wonder if maybe that’s adding to it?

My baby keeps rolling while she sleeps!

My baby is 7 mos and she started rolling onto her belly and it's really freaking me out! What did you use to stop your baby from rolling? Should I just go in and try to roll her back?

Am I giving in by hiring a night nurse or sleep specialist for my 1.5 year old who won’t sleep?

I have a 1.5 year old that will not sleep through the night and is having so much difficulty falling asleep… other mamas, would you suggest working with a night nurse or sleep specialist? I’m really tired…

Favorite product to help transition your baby out of traditional swaddles?

Hey mamas! My little one isn’t showing signs of needing to transition out of swaddles quite yet, but I want to be ready for it! Are the Nested Bean sleep sacks worth it? Something else you would recommend to make the process easier? She sleeps sooo well when swaddled, so I’m dreading this transition.

When should my infant son start sleeping through the night?

When is it normal for a baby to start consistently sleeping through the night? I've heard at 6 months or even younger, but my 8-month-old son hardly ever does. What's wrong?

Cry it out method - does it even work?

I’m having trouble embracing the CIO method with our 4-month-old. Both my mother and mother-in-law swear it’s the best way to get a baby to fall asleep faster and sleep through the night sooner. At this point, my husband and I are getting desperate for more sleep and I know our baby needs it, too. Is it really the best thing to do, or can it be stressful on the baby?
