Denise's Daycare

I believe that children learn best through play and thrive in a learning environment that is loving and fun. I believe children need to explore and experience a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and activities each day. During their play they will be learning math, science, language, literacy, positive social skills, and large and small motor skills. Good communication and partnering with parents/caregivers is essential for positive learning and development for each child.I use the Creative Curriculum program in my child care, so lessons are hands on and based on each individual child. I have a seperate room in my home that is set up with different learning areas for the children to play in. In the spring and summer, we have a garden unit. The children plan a garden, plant seeds, help water and weed and harvest. They then help cook it and we have it for lunch or snack. When the children are interested, they are allowed to help make snacks and lunch each day.We are within walking distance of two parks and the public library and like to visit them frequently. I have a fenced in yard with a large play set and sand box for the children to discover and learn in.
