Learn 'n Play Preschool Daycare

Our program combines all the wonderful qualities of a licensed family child care program with a comprehensive, quality preschool program. Our curriculum is based on the well-researched HighScope, which promotes learning through play in a carefully arranged, developmentally appropriate environment. Our day consists of small and large group teacher-led activities balanced with child-led free play to ensure that children are fully prepared for kindergarten. Children learn best when they are actively engaged. This means they need to be able to directly manipulate materials and use their senses in order to learn about them. This is why you won't see worksheets, coloring books, television, or flash cards here. We are a zero screen time for children program. We assess children through the developmentally appropriate method of observation so we can plan appropriate activities to help each child reach the next level of development. Childhood should be an exciting adventure and we strive to make that a reality for every child in our program. Our lead teacher, Tammy, holds a Masters degree Early Childhood Education and a Bachelors degree in Child Development. She has taken extensive training directly through the HighScope Institute to ensure proper implementation of our curriculum. Our assistant teacher, Neeley, is currently working toward her Child Development Associate credential. Families are an integral part of our program. We encourage parents and others close to the child to be involved in our program through a variety of ways. We work to keep families informed about their children's progress through regular parent-teacher conferences as well as other means of communication. We consider families our partners in the education of these little people and look forward to working with each one.
