Marcia Hegg's Childcare helps children learn and develop by creating a safe and loving environment that allows children to learn through play. I encourage children's social, emotional, physical and mental growth. We use the Creative Curriculum to plan for and support the early learning and development of children in our program. I hold a Child Development, Care and Guidance degree. My program is unique because of our rural setting on 120 acres in the country. We have an outdoor playground and natural play areas for children to explore. There is a large dedicated play room in the basement where children are encouraged to wonder, pretend, experiment and learn. A preschool program is offered to teach kindergarten readiness skills. While I believe it is extremely important to teach children academic skills needed for kindergarten, I also believe it is equally important to build the needed social and emotional skills. I partner with the child's family to help shape a well-rounded, confident child.
