Nancy's Playhouse Daycare

I believe that young children thrive in a warm, comfortable, small group setting and home-like environment. With a balance of structured activities, and free time to explore and stretch their "social-wings", children gain essential school readiness skills at a natural pace. By learning and growing with children of various ages and abilities, a child also learns cooperation, patience, and respect for others. I work with parents to develop a comfortable relationship with their child, and establish consistent rules, routines, and expectations. I use an ECIP (Early Childhood Indicators of Progress) aligned Curriculum, and Assessment Tool to individualize programing and track a child's progress, to intentionally create meaningful goals and meet critical developmental milestones.I use Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care to plan for and support children's early learning in my program.My program is special in that I bring Recreational Therapy experience and an Art background as assets in planning for my children. I have adapted my home to create separate and unique spaces for specific age groups, to provide all with a safe and stimulating environment. Additionally, I have totally committed my yard to a wood-chip surfaced playground, offering Little Tikes and Step 2 equipment divieded into age-appropriate areas.
