My name is Cindy and I am a mother to 4 grown children and a grandmother of 4 wonderful grandsons and 1 sassy granddaughter.

I homeschooled my children for many years before going back to work full time.

I spent 9 years working in the child watch program at the YMCA and then moved to working full-time as a preschool teacher. I love my job. The drawback I find is that a classroom setting with a large group of children makes it hard to give the emotional support these children still need at that age.

They are learning and having fun but I believe they deserve more than just learning numbers and letters. I believe learning about the world around them includes more. My belief that at they are only little once and the world is rushing for them to grow up without nurturing their emotional needs.

Sometimes they need snuggles, sometimes they need sensory experiences and sometimes they just need to run.

I strongly believe in learning through play and helping them understand how to regulate their big emotions by validation, helping them name what they are feeling and showing healthy ways to express them.

I also believe that that one on one attention is crucial before they enter the educational system and they are put in “group” settings.

I encourage a love for literature and music as both of those are my favorite activities and a wonderful method of harnessing emotions and mindfulness.
