I recently retired after 25 years with the School District of Palm Beach County. During that time I ran a classroom like clockwork, kept detailed records, communicated clearly with parents, and fostered positive collaborative relationships with other faculty. At the same time, I managed all aspects of a household, raised two children and cared for my ailing mother until the time of her death.
My number one priority as a teacher was to instill a can-do attitude in my students. By providing a safe environment, students would dare to take chances because they knew it was okay to make mistakes and learn from them. I believe children need clear expectations, positive reinforcement and when needed appropriate consequences but above all else, they need to know they are loved.
I am not a “glass half full” woman, instead, I am a “let me fill up the glass” woman who knows how to accomplish any job put in front of me with a positive attitude. I am honest, conscientious, and dependable. If I say I am going to do something, I do it to the best of my ability. I am adept at time management, have a self-appointed Ph.D. in organization, and excel at multitasking which gives me the ability to focus on several projects at once. Most importantly I take great pleasure in assisting others live their best life. The best way I can do that is by being attentive and respectful. I genuinely care and hope to be of service.
