Hello, my name is Kirsten! I am 27 and live in Oswego with my husband and 2 dogs. I worked as a nanny for 6 years during my late teens/early twenties, and was blessed to match with several wonderful families during that time. For the past few years, my focus has shifted and I have primarily worked in my field of study—social work—but my love for children has always remained. I’ve done some occasional babysitting since leaving my last nannying job 3 years ago, but I would love to find something more regular that I can do in conjunction with my current job in the social work field.

As a caregiver, my goal is to provide children with a positive, safe, and loving environment that allows them to be themselves and grow and develop in a healthy manner. I truly enjoy spending time with children and put my whole heart into every job I do, whether it be a permanent nannying job or a one-time babysitting commitment.

Throughout my 6 years of nannying and over 15 years of babysitting, I have cared for children ranging from ages 1-13, including children diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. While I do not have any professional experience caring for newborns, I am knowledgeable about newborn care and have experience caring for my now 1-year-old niece. I also have plenty of experience watching multiple children at a time.

My social work career has also provided me with some great perspective when caring for children. I have spent time working as a play therapist (helping children express emotions and process difficult events through play), a crisis counselor (assisting children and adolescents experiencing mental health emergencies), and a therapeutic mentor (teaching children coping skills and positive behaviors).
