A typical schedule in my care would consist of making use of a consistent schedule the infants/early toddlers can come to rely on.

ACTIVITIES: Developmentally appropriate activities and play

Such as:
Early Gross/ Fine motor skills – Tummy time/ reaching/grasping/ stacking/ knocking down objects.

Social and Emotional: Conversing with infants and toddlers. Even if the child is non-verbal, I respond (physical or verbal action) to non-verbal clues such as a child’s smile or outstretched hand. Reading books: especially that show or help convey emotional responses/expectations from children.

Art activities – for infants art activities are more of a visual and texture exploration. Toddlers learn fine motor skills and explore creativity when using art tools. Some activities I love to get creative with include memory keepsakes (especially during the holidays).

-Color and texture exploration – sensory bin activities, play objects, books, food, art with nature, etc.

Science: For example… Exploring liquids and solids. Young infants and toddlers will be fascinated by the cooler and warmer temperatures of the water as well as exploring solids and liquids by touch and seeing their differences.

Sensory- science/language activities – Leaves for fall/ feel how rough/crisp they are here how crinkly and crunchy they sound see how colorful and vibrant they look.
-Language practice / verbal and non-verbal (throughout the day) – I consistently converse with the children in my care regardless of age or development.
