Hello! My name is Wendy and I am 31 years old. I am a mother to two very amazing boys 8 and 11! I have been taking care of children since I was 15 years old, and even before 15 I was always the go to, to look after my little cousins and niece at family gatherings and entertain and watch the kids of family friends! I never even really had to be asked I was eager to do it and was always playing with them immediately!
I have always truly believed that being a care giver is what I was born to do! I have always gotten millions of compliments of how good I am with children and how people love how I am with theirs!
At 15 I started working at a daycare as the closer, so after school Monday - Friday I worked in a preschool room from 3:30-6:30 and LOVED it! When most kids my age were hanging out with their friends during the summer vacation I was working full time at the daycare enjoying every minute of it!! After working the preschool room I began to work full time in the infant room and fell in love with the age group and quickly developed great multi tasking skills and working fast paced when needed. At 17 I got a nanny position for a 8 month old boy and a newborn and cared for them for 6 years and within those 6 years I also had my first son and was able to bring him along with me so I was taking care of 3 boys all about a year apart!! I had my hands full but I loved every minute of it. We played outside, I organized fun learning activities, potty trained all 3 boys, we did lots of arts and crafts and I developed and consistently stuck to a routine schedule as far as activities, feedings, diaper changes, naps and outside time! When I got that position light housekeeping and just cleaning up after the kids was what the job asked of me but with permission I did much much more, I enjoy helping people and when I had time during naps and stuff I wanted to help out as much as I could so when the mom got home she could relax with her children! I worked for that family up until the day I went into labor with my second son and decided to be a stay at home moms. Shortly after having my son I began watching kids from my home, it started as helping a friend out to helping friends of friends and some days I had up to 6 kids (including my own!) ages from 6 months old to 6 years old! After a couple years of being home with my boys and doing that I got back in touch with the family I nannied for and she had asked if I knew anyone that could help out with morning and after school care she had mentioned she went through a few nannied and never was able to find anyone quite like me! So I offered to come and help until the boys were old enough and didn’t need me.
I have tons of references and loads of experience. Taking care of children isn’t just a job for me it is something that I truly enjoy and it’s very special to me being able to watch the children grow and learn! Being apart of children growing is precious to me. I also enjoy being helpful and making lives of parents easier and less stressful so when they get home they can relax and enjoy time with their family!! I also know how important it is to be able to leave the house knowing your child is happy and in good hands and I make sure I am that person so parents never have to worry!!
